Maaki is definitely one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. She had a great Easter weekend. Full of long walks, dog parks, and met lots of new dogs and people!
We went to West Nose Creek Park and she had a nice 2-3 hour long walk on the leash while watching the others run around and get dirty. The next day we went to an enclosed dog park where she was let off leash (carefully of course). I had a really good feeling about how she would be so we went to an enclosed one so there wouldn't be anything to worry about. She came back to me every time I called and in general stayed close, only running off to chase the ball. She had a blast running with the big dogs for the ball and it was great to see her really stretch her legs, and boy that girl can run! She's also become more brave around new dogs and not cowering as much.
She knows sit, shake a paw, and goes right into her kennel when I ask. I think she may have become more addicted to belly rubs since she's been here, and she knows that when I'm reading a book, I do have a spare hand to pet her with. She's (usually) only on the couch when invited and just wants to cuddle. Although still cautious with new people, she warms up in no time.
In the morning she is super excited to be up for the day, but she has in general calmed down a bit. Not being as needy because she knows her next belly rub or walk isn't that far away.
She is SO wonderful to have around but we're also excited for her to find her forever home.

Maaki is getting introduced to her crate but is not very comfortable with it yet. She is doing great with potty training. Maaki loves to chew. She is a big fan of bones and also enjoys playing ball.
Maaki gets along well with the resident dog!
